things you can know about me:
I want to learn something new from you. I walk a fine line between this physical plane and others. I'm Irish-American and practice the magic in my blood and the dance. I dislike organized things like religion and drawers and wearing shoes and government. I am sex positive! queerly androgynous minded with a femme outward expression and I like everyone in the spectrum.
I have a heart shaped mole on my forearm... so my hearts always on my sleeve.

Anonymous asked: What do you think of the term “Druid” in regards to cultural appropriation? I know some people claim it to be so, I just thought to ask you, since you seem to be rather educated on the subject.

witchyways: I think it sucks.

Even if we HAD information on Druids and their practices that wasn’t tainted by Romans, it should not be used for just anyone. Druid is like Witch. It requires hard work, lots of memorized knowledge, and years of training. Probably some pretty harsh initiation as well.

Even more problematic is the fact that “Druidry” isn’t even based on Druids. It’s a pan-Indo-European belief system, melding information and practices from almost every European and Middle Eastern/Indian culture. It’s icky. It is just a continuation of the 19th century Romanticization of Irish culture, and it makes me grumpy, as you can tell.

This.
